Interactive timelines, such as the one shown on this page, allow components of information in a variety of formats (such as photographs, video, or charts and graphs) to “pop out” when the attorney rolls the mouse over that timeline element. 

When addressing issues such as schedule delays or cost overruns, the timeline can graphically tie those issues together. Complex construction timelines should build components in steps, allowing the viewers to absorb the information gradually and keeping them from “reading ahead.” For  example, overruns can be shown as pop-ups that can be activated and then closed so as not to crowd the complex timeline with added layers of content.
